Starting a new business or expanding through a business franchise is one option seriously considered by those looking for a ¨quick¨ start with less risk and in association with a brand they like, respect or expect a great return on their personal and financial investment.

Basically, the franchisee, the local operator of the franchise premises, obtained the license to use the  business name, trademarks, practices and procedures of the franchisor. The franchisor is the owner of all the above but share these with the franchisee in exchange of royalties and full compliance to their way of doing business.

The issues for a new franchisee is to select the right franchisor, bring enough experience to the table, negotiate reasonable conditions, make the initial investment and obtain financing, have enough management savvy to properly start, hire employees, manage the franchise.
